If you are looking for a new twist on Vintage Style, then perhaps a "home look kitsch" is a perfect match for you. Many of the kitchen and home accessories produced during the 1950s were made in "color field" as soft yellows, greens, pinks, blue, peach and aquaculture, and were decorated with tropical prints and images novelty beach. There are plenty of kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and patio collectibles out there and still and prices.
The good news is that you do not live near water to create style cottage. All you need is the desire to have fun and experiment fabrics, is the flea market and antique furniture. Cottage style is about achieving a comfortable and relaxing with back home.
One of the best ways to become familiar with what hunting is to read through some magazines back home. 1950 My favorite source of kitchen and household products is family time Circle magazines. These papers are easy to find in stores and online for a few dollars. Generally, you can buy individually or in batches.
When you browse through these magazines see full-page ads in some of his favorite collectibles such as Pyrex, tablecloths, aprons, bowls, etc.
In reading through these fifty years "magazines of women who recognize the names of many households probably grew manufacturers. Producers popular today "kitsch collectibles" are: Fire King, Gay Fad, Corning Glass Works, Lincoln Beautyware, Blisscraft Hollywood, Burroughs & Plastics Federal Dapol Glass and Lustro Ware.
In 1951, Corning Glassworks oven and fridge advertising packages for $ 2.95 that was in primary school, cake and desert colors. Housewives (politically correct term in 1950) loved these dishes, because they save time. You can cook them and then easily store leftovers. Pyrex today is once again very popular because it works well during the summer months and warmer climates.
Pyrex kitchen is not only homeowners cottage style collectors are after. Retro Flasks provides also a good addition to a house cottage kitsch because they are decorative and practical.
Not only can you customize your kitchen with collectibles, but there are many others forties and fifties, treasures that look stunning in other rooms thus. Barkcloth pillows and curtains, chenille bedspreads, furniture painted white or pastel, enamel top tables house, ceramic planters, lemonade sets, vintage garden accessories and wicker are great options if your goal is a comfortable cottage feel.
Saved classic articles, collecting as just mentioned, are very popular today. It is incredible to see prices rise by what was once the disorder junkyard. Chipped and painted furniture is a hot trend, along with the old windows, shutters and doors. With a little imagination can use these objects recovery in new ways.
If you like repainting old furniture, there are plenty of resource books out there to help with specific painting and restoration techniques.
