Senseo SL7810/65 Single-Serve Gourmet Coffee Machine, Black

I wouldn't pay 50 dollars for this product

I'm basing my review on the product, and not the value for the current list price, which is [...].

I've used a Senseo for about 4 years and have owned this product for about 1 month. The advantages of this Coffee Maker is the convenience of having a hot cup of coffee in about 30 seconds with little preparation. You just pop a Coffee Pod in, press a button and viola! Toss the used pod away, and your machine is ready for the next cup. Simple.

I do, however, have some reservations with this machine.

Noise: It's too loud for my liking, but only for the few seconds of brewing. It's pretty quiet, otherwise.

Clean up: This particular model seems to leak often but not in a huge quantity. I'm comparing this to the older model I had several years ago, which never leaked at all. Having a cream colored counter, it goes without saying that cleaning coffee stains off of it nearly every day negates the convenience of a throw-away, Single Serve coffee pod.

Coffee pods: Senseo coffee is sub par, compared to the coffee offered from their competitors. This company made a big mistake in not partnering with name brand coffee makers. To me, availability of pods is also an issue. In my area, I cannot find any varieties other than medium and dark roast. To boot, their coffee pods are pricey. Right now I'm paying 6 bucks for a pack of 18 pods. This certainly beats the price of ready brewed coffee, but is more expensive than buying Your Own beans and grinding them yourself. That being said, I bought a set of Ecopads and would definitely recommend them as a cheaper alternative to pods. I used to have a Presto Mypod refillable Coffee Filter which also worked well in these types of machines.

Water well: The reservoir that comes with this machine is too small, and has to be refilled too often. I would recommend the Extra Large water tank available through Amazon.

All in all, this product is sufficient and I will continue to use it as it was free, and serves my purposes just fine. I wouldn't, however, recommend paying 50 dollars for this particular machine.

Senseo Coffee Maker

Just bought our second Senseo from Amazon. The first one (bought way back when it was first introduced) still worked, but had developed a small leak and would leave a bit of water on the counter. We really enjoy having a fresh cup of coffee every time and we never have leftover coffee to throw away. Love the crema that forms on the top of the cup. By getting our pods from Amazon through their grocery subscription plan, we never run out and they are cheaper than the store. Couldn't be happier.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS COFFEE MAKER!

I have wanted this coffee maker for a year after using one at my daughter's and had to wait until they got the bugs out of the previous one (my daughter had no problems with hers). The price at Amazon is excellent and the coffee maker is great. I've tried coffee from other makers of this type and found that the Senseo is the best for me. I ordered the pods from Amazon and they were reasonably price, though I will probably look around a little more. But wanted to say..I'm lovin' this coffee maker.
